The  Straight&Zigzag Stitch sewing machine is a heavy duty sewing machine with straight and reverse stitch. The  Straight&Zigzag Stitch is equipped with a built-in walking foot which is great for sewing thick materials or hard-to-sew fabrics. This walking foot grabs the material from top and bottom, which relieves pressure on the needle assembly. Normal household sewing machines have walking foot "attachments". These attachments are not motorized and do not feed fabric with any torque (like the built-in walking foot on the machine). 

In addition to the built-in walking foot, there are other advantages this machine has over standard sewing machines. First, this machine is equipped with a geared belt pulley drive which provides greater penetration power and longer belt life. Second, this machine is equipped with a cleated positraction belt system. This system combines itself with a geared hand wheel pulley, a geared reduction pulley, and a geared motor pulley which help to deter fabric slippage. These cleated positraction belts, combined with the walking foot, enable the machine to operate smoothly and efficiently. Last but not least- this machine is an all cast iron machine with all metal gears. If you are looking to sew heavy fabric, makes sure your machine has metal gears, not plastic. It will be a workhorse for years to come.
